Premiered on February 1, 1896 at the Teatro Regio, Turin A universal and timeless work, La Bohème is a poignant love story between Mimi and Rodolfo as well as an evocation of the lives of artists in search of of glory and a better existence. Puccini develops in his score the full range of emotions and radiates life, poetry and cheerfulness despite the disastrous fate of Mimi. La Bohème finds in Laurent Laffargue 's “sixties” staging , created in 2006 on the stage of the Grand-Théâtre, a breath of youth and audacity that suits it perfectly. This is the first opera directed by Paul Daniel in Bordeaux.

Créé le 1er février 1896 au Teatro Regio, Turin Œuvre universelle et intemporelle, La Bohème est une poignante histoire d’amour entre Mimi et Rodolfo ainsi qu’une évocation de la vie d’artistes en quête de gloire et d’une existence meilleure. Puccini développe dans sa partition toute la palette des émotions et fait rayonner la vie, la poésie et la gaieté malgré le funeste destin de Mimi. La Bohème trouve dans la mise en scène « sixties » de Laurent Laffargue, créée en 2006 sur la scène du Grand-Théâtre, un souffle de jeunesse et d’audace qui lui sied à merveille. Il s’agit du premier opéra dirigé par Paul Daniel à Bordeaux.
