La Obisparra is an operatic masque composed by the composer Daniel Blanco Albert. Originally written for orchestra and premiered in the UK in 2016, it finally reaches the lands that inspired his composition. Based on the winter masquerade of Los Carochos de Riofrío, it also includes elements from other Alistano bishoprics and other European masquerades; creating a unique work, imbued with Alistano musical folklore, halfway between opera, dance and traditional street theater.

La Obisparra was Daniel Blanco Albert 's first approach to the operatic genre, of which he is currently a reference in the city of Birmingham as artistic co-director of the Infinite Opera company and as a researcher in the genre of performing arts at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. The LittleOpera de Zamora festival will enjoy a revised version of this work, specially adapted for the occasion to the chamber opera format, and for which the dramatic and vocal action has been extended.

La Obisparra es una mascarada operística compuesta por el compositor Daniel Blanco Albert. Escrita originalmente para orquesta y estrenada en el Reino Unido en 2016, por fin llega a las tierras que inspiraron su composición. Basada en la mascarada de invierno de Los Carochos de Riofrío, incluye a su vez elementos de otras obisparras alistanas y de otras mascaradas europeas; creando una obra única, imbuida por el folklore musical alistano, a caballo entre la ópera, la danza y el teatro de calle tradicional.

La Obisparra fue la primera aproximación de Daniel Blanco Albert al género operístico, del que es actualmente referencia en la ciudad de Birmingham como codirector artístico de la compañía Infinite Opera y como investigador en el género de las artes performativas en el Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. El festival LittleOpera de Zamora disfrutará de una versión revisada de esta obra, adaptada especialmente para la ocasión al formato de ópera de cámara, y para la que se ha extendido la acción dramática y vocal.
