Manuel de Falla à l'honneur avec deux de ses oeuvres phares. Dans une atmosphère gitane emplie de magie et de superstition, L'Amour Sorcier met en scène les épreuves ténébreuses, les jalousies et les maléfices que traversent Candela et Carmelo pour vivre leur amour. Chef-d'oeuvre de l'opéra espagnol, La Vida Breve mêle vérisme, couleur andalouse et impressionnisme à la française. Salud, jeune gitane, espère épouser son amant Paco, mais ce dernier s'est engagé auprès d'une riche héritière. Salud se présente lors de la cérémonie du mariage, puis maudit Paco avant de mourir à ses pieds.

Manuel de Falla in the spotlight with two of his flagship works. In a gypsy atmosphere filled with magic and superstition, L'Amour Sorcier depicts the dark trials, jealousies and curses that Candela and Carmelo go through to experience their love. A masterpiece of Spanish opera, La Vida Breve combines verismo, Andalusian color and French impressionism. Salud, a young gypsy, hopes to marry her lover Paco, but the latter has become involved with a rich heiress. Salud shows up at the wedding ceremony, then curses Paco before dying at his feet.
