Figaro in the City  is a contemporary adaptation of  Mozart's Marriage of Figaro  : a crazy day full of happy and unhappy adventures that lead to one of the most moving final scenes in the history of opera. The young singers of the lyrical workshop of Opera Fuoco take over the large stage that is Paris, its artists' studios, its streets, its gardens. Shooting in playback allows them to engage theatrically while respecting the necessary health measures. The camera fits into the story like a character, reacting to every situation. The instrumentalists and the conductor gradually give way to the singers alone, who become the characters, passing from repetition to fiction.
Like television series, each episode has been designed to maintain the suspense of the plot, while respecting Mozart's work. To create this new approach to one of the great masterpieces of opera, conductor David Stern collaborates with videographer and director Alexandre Camerlo. We particularly thank Laurent Naouri for having joined the soloists of the lyrical workshop of Opera Fuoco for his debut in the role of Bartolo.
