Glockenhell und engelsgleich: Das sind Attribute, die einem beim Hören der Stimme von Dorothee Mields in den Sinn kommen. Ohne viel Brimborium hat sie sich damit in die erste Reihe der europäischen Barock-Sopranistinnen gesungen. Dabei wirkt diese Stimme in ihrer Klar- und Reinheit nie asketisch-knabenhaft (auch solche Engel gibt es!) sondern immer von sinnlicher Wärme erfüllt.

Gemeinsam mit dem Pianisten Tobias Koch und dem Bariton Thomas Laske wird sie die von Hugo Wolf vertonten volkstümlichen italienischen Liebesgedichte aufführen, die von Lobpreisungen der Verliebtheit und der Schönheit der oder des Angebeteten über Spott- und Streitgesänge bis zu
bitteren Klagen des Liebeskummers und der Verlassenheit alle Stimmungsbilder einer Liebesbeziehung beinhalten.

Clear as a bell and angelic are the attributes that spring to mind when you hear the voice of Dorothee Mields. Without much ado, she has gained her place among the leading rank of European baroque sopranos. Yet despite its clarity and purity, her voice never sounds ascetically boyish (although that too can be angelic), but is always full of seductive warmth.

Together with the pianist Tobias Koch and baritone Thomas Laske, she will perform traditional Italian love poems set to music by Hugo Wolf. They cover all the different moods and aspects of love – from the glorification of falling in love and the beauty of the adored to satirical and quarrelsome songs as well as the bitter laments of the lovelorn and songs of loss.
