In his opera Lohengrin, Richard Wagner combined two sagas - about the Holy Grail and about the knight with the swan - into a new plot of his own: Elsa of Brabant is falsely accused of murdering her brother and has to publicly defend her innocence. But none of the knights wants to face the valiant prosecutor Telramund in battle. Elsa falls to her knees and begs God for help. The knight Lohengrin miraculously appears in a boat pulled by a swan and becomes Elsa's husband after winning the battle. But Elsa must never ask for his identity. Will the curious woman survive this test? This work returns to Ostrava after thirty years.

Richard Wagner spojil ve své opeře Lohengrin dvě ságy – o svatém grálu a o rytíři s labutí – do nového vlastního děje: Elsa z Brabantu je křivě obviněna z vraždy svého bratra a má veřejně obhájit svoji nevinu. Žádný z rytířů se ale nechce postavit udatnému žalobci Telramundovi v boji. Elsa padá na kolena a prosí o pomoc Boha. Zázrakem se zjeví rytíř Lohengrin v loďce tažené labutí a po vyhraném boji se stane Elsiným manželem. Elsa se ale nikdy nesmí ptát po jeho totožnosti. Vydrží zvědavá žena tuto zkoušku? Do Ostravy se toto dílo vrací po třiceti letech.
