In music, magic takes on many colors. The first three films adapted from the Harry Potter saga owe much of their success to scores by John Williams. His instantly recognizable melodies instilled a sonic identity into this universe that sparked the imagination of an entire generation. We have chosen to associate his scores with the Violin Concerto by Erich Wolfgang Korngold. The influence of this composer on cinema can still be felt today. His concerto is also interspersed with several motifs borrowed from the films for which he wrote the music.  
 
The Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellenby Gustav Mahler are more melancholic. The magical orchestration of this cycle reproduces the wonder at the nature of a traveler bruised by the loss of his great love. The expressionist violence of Arnold Schoenberg's Fünf Orchesterstücke completes this program in which Alain Altinoglu will bring out the full sound palette of our symphony orchestra. An ideal evening for wizards and muggles.

En musique, la magie se pare de nombreuses couleurs. Les trois premiers films adaptés de la saga Harry Potter doivent une grande partie de leur succès aux partitions de John Williams. Ses mélodies immédiatement reconnaissables ont insufflé une identité sonore à cet univers qui a stimulé l’imagination de toute une génération. Nous avons choisi d’associer ses partitions au Concerto pour violon d’Erich Wolfgang Korngold. L’influence de ce compositeur sur le cinéma se ressent encore aujourd’hui. Son concerto est d’ailleurs émaillé de plusieurs motifs empruntés aux films dont il a signé la musique.  
 
Les Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen de Gustav Mahler sont plus mélancoliques. L’orchestration féérique de ce cycle reproduit l’émerveillement face à la nature d’un voyageur meurtri par la perte de son grand amour. La violence expressionniste des Fünf Orchesterstücke d’Arnold Schoenberg complète ce programme dans lequel Alain Altinoglu fera jaillir toute la palette sonore de notre orchestre symphonique. Une soirée idéale pour les sorciers et les moldus.
