I can safely say that my career as a composer began with this opera," said Giuseppe Verdi. In 1840, after the death of his two children and his wife, Verdi fell into a severe depression. Only two years later, in 1842, having overcome the internal crisis, the composer returned to work and wrote Nabucco . The resounding triumph after the performance of Nabucco opened the era of fame for Verdi's operas.
The idea-philosophical basis of Nabucco's LNO stage version is time. The theme of time can also be felt in the visual solution of the production - it is the course of the sun, the course of life's circles, the course of the sides of the sky... But over everything spreads the Supreme judgment and assessment of our actions, thoughts and deeds.

The performance was performed at the Latvian National Opera in 1996, and had its revival premiere in 2010.
