After the Corona-related break, during which the Niederrheinische Sinfoniker, members of the music theater ensemble and GMD Mihkel Kütson produced a concert video that has now been clicked over 11,000 times as a "consolation", there will be another New Year's concert on January 1, 2022 - live in front of an audience, and traditionally at 11 a.m. in the Krefeld Theater and at 8 p.m. in the Mönchengladbach Theater. Under the motto Valserita!In terms of music, Kütson and his musicians initially look back on the year 2021. After all, two important anniversaries were to be celebrated there. On the one hand the 200th birthday of the Krefeld musician, music dealer and instrument maker Heinrich Band, on the other hand the 100th birthday of Astor Piazzolla, who made the bandoneon invented by Band the central instrument of his tango nuevo. As true experts in Argentine tango music, bandoneonist Kaspar Uljas will therefore perform some of the most famous works by Piazzolla together with the Lower Rhine Symphony Orchestra, including Libertango and Adios nonino.

The journey continues from Argentina to Spain, where David Esteban will prove that his interpretation of Amapola gets under your skin even more live than via a video stream. A greeting to the famous New Year's concert in Vienna will not be missing - but here GMD Mihkel Kütson (like so much in the New Year's concert) is good for a surprise. More will not be revealed.
