OPERETTA & MUSICAL HIGHLIGHTS

Franz von Suppé, together with Carl Millöcker and Johann Strauss, formed the triumvirate of the “Golden Vienna Operetta Heaven”. With Franz Lehár, Emmerich Kálmán and Nico Dostal, the “Silver Age” of the operetta was also provided with great composers.

Many of their melodies are evergreens and have achieved folk song status. Viennese operetta music was and is also very popular in America and at the beginning of the 20th century was involved in the creation of a new musical genre, the musical.
