For those who love Puccini, and for those who did not know that he loves Puccini, Opera Nordfjord offers an exclusive Puccini program with a concert tour 24-26. March.

The beautiful and powerful choral work Messa di Gloria is performed by a large choir composed of the Music Line Choir at Firda upper secondary school and Nordfjord Opera Choir and other amateur singers who want to join. The music line choir has had several collaborative projects with Opera Nordfjord in the past, both opera gala tour, Verdi's Requiem, Messiah and Beethoven's 9th symphony, and the district opera at Nordfjordeid looks forward to working with talented young people from all over the county.

Messa di Gloria was Puccini's exam paper from the Instituto Musicale Pacini in Lucca and premiered in 1888 with great success. Nevertheless, the work was not published by Puccini, and it was not until 1952 that it was performed again, in the United States and Italy. The mass contains the traditional mass elements Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Benedictus and Agnus Dei and is written for choir, orchestra, tenor, baritone and bass. In addition to the mass, we get, among other things, the beautiful Intermezzo from Manon Lescaut, Preludio Sinfonico and the famous duet between Pinkerton and Sharpless from Madama Butterfly. The whole program is a show in good sound and musical highlights with a high goosebumps factor.

The soloists are the well-known American tenor Evan Bowers, who this spring sings Don José in Carmen at the Norwegian Opera & Ballet, and the bass Magne Fremmerlid from Skodje in Sunnmøre, who has sung at the National Opera for a number of years.

For den som elskar Puccini, og for den som ikkje visste at han elskar Puccini, byr Opera Nordfjord på eit eksklusivt Puccini-program med konsertturné 24.-26. mars.

Det vakre og mektige korverket Messa di Gloria vert framført av eit storkor samansett av Musikklinjekoret ved Firda vidaregåande skule og Nordfjord Operakor og andre amatørsongarar som ønskjer å bli med. Musikklinjekoret har hatt fleire samarbeidsprosjekt med Opera Nordfjord tidlegare, både operagallaturné, Verdis Requiem, Messias og Beethovens 9. symfoni, og distriktsoperaen på Nordfjordeid ser fram til å arbeide med dyktige ungdommar frå heile fylket.

Messa di Gloria var Puccini si eksamensoppgåve frå Instituto Musicale Pacini i Lucca og hadde premiere i 1888 med stor suksess. Likevel vart ikkje verket utgitt av Puccini, og først i 1952 vart det framført igjen, i USA og Italia. Messa inneheld dei tradisjonelle messeledda Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Benedictus og Agnus Dei og er skrive for kor, orkester, tenor, baryton og bass. Heile programmet vert ei oppvisning i velklang og musikalske høgdepunkt med høg gåsehudfaktor.

Solistane vert den kjende amerikanske tenoren Evan Bowers, som til våren syng Don José i Carmen ved Den Norske Opera & Ballett, og bassen Magne Fremmerlid frå Skodje på Sunnmøre, som har sunge ved nasjonaloperaen i ei årrekkje.
