Salzburger Landestheater: „The Rocky Horror Show“

"I see you shiver with antici... - pation!" Indeed, to say that Richard O'Brien's musical inspires a tremor of anticipation is a gross understatement. At the latest when it was filmed, this whiplash roller coaster ride through the middle of science fiction, glam rock, pornography and horror film aesthetics became a cult hit.


It all starts very innocently: Janet and Brad, a newly in love, somewhat conservative couple, are in the middle of nowhere and the air is out of their tires. They seek help in a nearby old castle - and encounter a wild celebration of aliens from the planet Transsexual. Among them dr. Frank'n'Furter, presenting his latest invention: an artificially created, muscular human named Rocky, created solely for the - sexual - pleasure of the scientist. However, it quickly turns out that Frank'n'Furter has some literal skeletons in his closet. Janet and Brad won't forget that night in a hurry... "The Rocky Horror Show" is trash, taboo breaking and sexual provocation. And stands by it! In fact, the musical celebrates all of these things while remaining honest,


Films and musicals are considered absolute cults that you have to experience, preferably with the hands-on fan bag, which contains glow sticks and party hats, among other things, as well as playing cards to throw. Singing along is also expressly permitted at the Salzburg State Theater and a good mood is guaranteed with Marco Dott's team.
