The International Singing Competition of Clermont-Ferrand highlights the most gifted young lyrical talents of their generation. And the 27th edition (July 2021) was no exception to the rule by awarding the Prix du Récital Romantique to these three more than promising young singers. The Russian soprano, Julia Muzychenko , received no less than four prizes during the competition, in particular the Audience Prize, a just reward for this artist with a generous voice in sound and color, a real diamond that the Clermont public will be delighted with. to be back on stage after having applauded him last season in La Sonnambula .

She will share the stage with the Belarusian bass Alexey Birkus , a male revelation of the competition endowed with an imposing voice of dark velvet and an undeniable stage presence. Beatriz Baptista , a young Brazilian mezzo-soprano, who won over the competition jury with her full, round voice, will complete this cast.

The melodies of the Italian romantics will be honoured: Rossini of course and his facetious spirit like his musical genius, Donizetti and his concern for dramatic realism, and Bellini whose melodies as formidable as they are demanding require length of breath, expressive subtlety , absolute finesse and technical agility.

Mastering these melodies remains perhaps the most decisive experience for a singer, a kind of absolute peak. And to accompany them to these heights, our three laureates will be able to count on a fine connoisseur of vocal music in the person of Susan Manoff , a pianist of immense sensitivity, an outstanding accompanist for today's most beautiful voices.

Le Concours International de Chant de Clermont-Ferrand met en lumière les jeunes talents lyriques les plus doués de leur génération. Et la 27ème édition (juillet 2021) n’a pas dérogé à la règle en décernant le Prix du Récital Romantique à ces trois jeunes chanteurs plus que prometteurs. La soprano russe, Julia Muzychenko, a reçu pas moins de quatre prix lors du concours, notamment le Prix du Public, juste récompense pour cette artiste à la voix généreuse en sonorité comme en couleurs, un véritable diamant que le public clermontois se fera un bonheur de retrouver sur scène après l’avoir applaudi la saison passée dans La Sonnambula.

Elle partagera la scène avec la basse biélorusse Alexey Birkus, révélation masculine du concours doté d’une voix imposante de velours sombre et d’une présence scénique incontestable. Beatriz Baptista, jeune mezzo-soprano brésilienne, qui avait su séduire le jury du concours de sa voix ample et ronde, viendra compléter cette distribution.

Seront mises à l’honneur les mélodies des romantiques italiens : Rossini bien sûr et son esprit facétieux comme son génie musical, Donizetti et son souci de réalisme dramatique, et Bellini dont les mélodies tout autant redoutables qu’exigeantes demandent longueur de souffle, subtilité expressive, finesse absolue et agilité technique.

Maîtriser ces mélodies demeure peut-être l’expérience la plus décisive pour un chanteur, une sorte de sommet absolu. Et pour les accompagner vers ces hauteurs, nos trois lauréats pourront compter sur une fine connaisseuse de la musique vocale en la personne de Susan Manoff, pianiste d’une immense sensibilité, accompagnatrice hors-pair des plus belles voix d’aujourd’hui.
