In the ninth summer of opera, opera viva comes up with «Semiramide» by Gioachino Rossini.

«Semiramide» is an opera in two acts. The libretto is by Gaetano Rossi. It is based on Voltaire's tragedy Semiramis, which in turn goes back to the legend of Semiramis of Babylon. The opera had its premiere in the opera house "La Fenice" in Venice on February 3, 1823 and became one of his most performed works in the 19th century.

With the coro opera viva, consisting of singers from the entire Graubünden region, the internationally active soloists and the philharmonia opera viva from Hungary, the work will be performed under the direction of Gion Gieri Tuor. In front of the stage set by our painter Rudolf Mirer, Rossini's opera becomes a very special operatic experience.

«Semiramide» ist eine Oper in zwei Akten. Das Libretto stammt von Gaetano Rossi. Es basiert auf Voltaires Tragödie Semiramis, welche wiederum auf die Legende von Semiramis von Babylon zurückgeht. Die Oper erlebte ihre Uraufführung im Opernhaus «La Fenice» in Venedig am 3. Februar 1823 und wurde danach im 19. Jahrhundert eines seiner meist gespielten Werke.

Mit dem coro opera viva, bestehend aus Sängerinnen und Sängern der ganzen Region Graubündens, den international tätigen Solisten und der philharmonia opera viva aus Ungarn gelangt das Werk unter der Leitung von Gion Gieri Tuor zur Aufführung. Vor dem Bühnenbild unseres Kunstmalers Rudolf Mirer wird Rossinis Oper zu einem Opernerlebnis der besonderen Art.
