It is always a challenge to come up with a fitting festival finale, but with soprano Sophie Bevan joining us to sing Richard Strauss’ Four Songs op.27 we are assured a very special occasion. Tchaikovsky’s Romeo Juliet Fantasy Overture with its drama and heart on sleeve romance and Sibelius’ towering 5th Symphony bookend the concert.
