At Catholic, a Bravura Bravo in 'Bohème'

Tenor Jorge Orlando Gomez (Rodolfo) is vocally clear, strong and expressive and an appealing actor. Patricia Wulf's Musetta is properly outrageous in Act 2, fiery in Act 3, sympathetic in Act 4 and well sung throughout. Jeffrey Buchman is a stalwart, witty and sensitive Marcello; Robert Cantrell's coat song is one of the evening's highlights; and Arturo Chacon gives depth and resonance to the role of the musician, Schaunard. Of special interest, in the two small but vivid buffo roles of Benoit and Alcindoro, is the work of David Faircloth, a solid performer in either serious or comic parts.
