Seoul, South KoreaTenor Sungho Kim was born in Gwangmyeong (South Korea). He first completed a Bachelor of Music in singing at the National University of the Arts in Korea with Prof. Kwangsun Song, which was followed by a Master's degree at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin with Prof. Ewa Wolak and Ks. Julia Varady. Meanwhile, he attended master classes amongst others with professors Seungseo Na and Maurizio Carnelli in Seoul and Lioba Braun, Deborah Polaski, Bejun Mehta, Gerd Uecker, Malcolm Martineau and Brigitte Fassbaender in Hamburg. He has received numerous awards for his musical achievements, both in his home country and internationally: he won 3rd Prize at the 2022 International Meistersinger Singing Competition in Nürnberg, received the first prize at the International Hans Gabor Belveder
