The Festival and Congress Centre - Varna was inaugurated in 1986. Since its beginning it turned into the centre of the most prestigious events in the sphere of arts, culture and congress industry. Here, except the artistic events and festivals, are organized congresses, conferences, science meetings, seminars, different companies are celebrate their jubilees. Till now, despite the tough years of the transitional period, when remaining without financial support of the country, the Festival and Congress Centre - Varna did not only save its art territories, but even gained new ones, as well as CIELA cafe-bookstore. The FCC Varna has became the only one international network of cinemas – Europa Cinemas with MEDIA, the European Commission`s support program (Creative Europe/MEDIA Programme) for the European audivisual industry.

 


Some of the most prestigious events of which the Festival and Congress Centre-Varna is a co-organiser are: the Festival of the Bulgarian Film The Golden Rose, the Festival of the European film co-productions, the International Music Festival Varna Summer, the Theatre Festival of Varna, the International May Choir Competition, the International Ballet Festival, edition of the European Music Festival of Radio FM Classic, the Christmas and May Salon of Arts – Varna, the International Children Festival of Arts, etc.
 


In 1993 the Festival and Congress Centre - Varna became the initiator and organizer  of the International Film Festival Love is Folly, which is the only international film festival with a film competition programme that has been organised on the territory of our country and with its 29 editions it has turned to be a card of the Bulgarian culture in a world scene.

  
Varna FCC is situated at the most attractive place in the centre of Varna itself, at the entrance of the Sea Garden, close to the beach, where the number of people is always huge.

 The Festival and Congress Centre – Varna, established in 1986 as an unit of the National Palace of Culture (Sofia), disposes of 11 multifunctional halls with a capacity of 50 to 1000 seats, restaurant, cafes and two summer terraces, situated under one roof of 4000 sq. m. in the most animated street in Varna – along the boulevard at the central entry of the Sea Garden and only 50 m away of the beach alley.

Constructed after a project of Arch. Kosyo Hristov, with its 80000 cubic meters, almost half of which underground, with its clear outlines and modern silhouette, the building looks impressive and elegant at the same time, and nowadays is one of the architecture symbols of Varna.

Events with different character are held daily in the halls of the Festival and Congress Centre – Varna.
The image of the FCC as a centre of the events is supported by over 2000 movie screening per year, a lot of concerts in all ages, theatre performances, literature evenings, children's matinees and shows, art exhibitions, various expositions, international and branch congresses, conferences, seminars, presentations of companies, trainings, national and city-bred celebrations, cocktails, receptions.

The Festival and Congress Centre is a co-organizer of more than 10 annual festivals, and in 1993 it became the initiator and organizer of the international film festival with competition for feature films in Bulgaria – the International Film Festival Love Is Folly.

The Festival and Congress Centre is a representative of the international network of cinema EUROPA CINEMAS with program MEDIA.

Фестивалният и конгресен център - Варна е открит през 1986 година. Още от създаването си той се налага като център на най–престижните събития в сферата на изкуството, културата, конгресната индустрия. Тук, наред с артистични мероприятия и фестивали, се провеждат конгреси, традиционни конференции с международно участие, научни срещи, семинари, различни фирми честват своите годишни празници. И досега, без финансова подкрепа от държавата, ФКЦ не само запази своите територии, но и съумя да завоюва нови, например чрез привличането на авторитетни партньори като кафе-книжарница CIELA. ФКЦ е член на единствената паневропейска верига от киносалони EUROPA CINEMAS  към Европейската комисия.
 
 
 	 
 
  Едни от най-значимите мероприятия, които се провеждат на територията на ФКЦ са Фестивалът на българския игрален филм „Златната роза”, Киномания, Световният фестивал на анимационния филм, София филм фест във Варна, Синелибри, фестивал на късометражното кино "В Двореца", Мастър оф Арт, Международният музикален фестивал „Варненско лято”, Международният майски хоров конкурс "Проф. Г. Димитров", органови концерти за Великден и Коледа на концертния орган в зала 1 с 3 мануала, комбинация Setzer, 3890 тръби, 53-регистъра. 


През 1993 г. Фестивалният и конгресен център стана инициатор и организатор на Международния филмов фестивал „Любовта е лудост”, който дълги години е единственият международен кинофестивал с конкурсна програма за игрални филми, провеждащ се в страната ни, и за своите двадесет и девет досегашни издания успя да се превърне в една от визитните картички на българската култура в световен мащаб.   

    От 1992 г. ФКЦ е на самостоятелна издръжка, а с решение на Министерски съвет от 2011 г. е апортиран в капитала на НДК-София.
Фестивалният и конгресен център /"Национален дворец на културата - Конгресен център София" ЕАД - клон Варна/ е 100% държавно търговско дружество и функционира на пазарен принцип, без издръжка, инвестиции или средства за развитие от държавата.

   ФКЦ - Варна е разположен на най-атрактивното място в самия център на града, непосредствено пред главния вход на Морската градина и в близост до плажа, където потокът от хора винаги е огромен.

     Фестивален и конгресен център – Варна разполага с 10 многофункционални зали с капацитет от 50 до 1000 места, ресторант, кафе-барове и  летни тераси, разположени под един покрив на 4000 кв.метра на най-оживената улица във Варна – на ларгото пред централния вход на Морската градина и само на 50 метра от плажната алея. Построен през 1986 г. по проект на арх. Косьо Христов, със своите 80000 куб.метра, почти половината от които под земята, с изчистените си линии и модерен силует, неговата сграда изглежда едновременно внушителна и елегантна и днес е един от архитектурните символи на Варна. В залите на Фестивален и конгресен център ежедневно се провеждат прояви от различен характер: кинопрожекции, концерти, театрални гастроли, литературни четения, детски спектакли, художествени изложби, различни изложения, конферентни прояви, семинари, презентации на фирми, обучения, национални и общоградски чествания, празници на учебни заведения и корпоративни прояви. Всички те създават имиджа на многофункционалния комплекс като център на събитията.

   Фестивален и конгресен център е съорганизатор на повече от 10 провеждащи се ежегодно фестивали, а през 1993 година стана инициатор и организатор на Международния филмов фестивал „Любовта е лудост”. ФКЦ - Варна е представител на България в единствената паневропейска верига от киносалони EUROPA CINEMAS с участието си в програма MEDIA /програма за подпомагане от страна на Европейския съвет на европейската аудиовизуална индустрия/.
