Soprano coloratura Bahar Harandi made her debut as a soloist with the Victoria Symphony Orchestra and Philharmonic Choir in 2019. She started her musical journey at the age of seven. Although she always had a passion for singing, she decided to pursue music in Violin performance since singing in public is forbidden for women in her country, Iran. She got her bachelor’s degree as a violinist from Tehran University of Art in 2013. During her studies in Tehran, she managed to take some private singing lessons from Ardalan Jabbari. In 2014, Bahar took a leap of faith and moved to Canada to follow her path as a singer. She has since completed a master’s degree in voice from the University of Victoria under supervision of Benjamin Butterfield and a master’s degree “with distinction” from the Con
