Biography
Michael Cobb is a British conductor based in Lyon, France with notable experience working with Opera de Lyon, Longborough Festival Opera, Welsh National Youth Opera, Orchestra Vitae and Brandon Hill Chamber Orchestra. In training, Michael has also conducted Orchestre National de Lyon, Argovia Philharmonic, Plovdiv Philharmonic and the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris. In 2022, Michael has worked as assistant conductor to Franck Ollu for the world premiere of Thierry Escaich’s opera Shirine at the Opera de Lyon. He has since been invited to assist conductor Wayne Marshall in a production of Bernstein’s Candide at Opera de Lyon. Michael has an MA Performance in Orchestral Conducting from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where he trained under David Jones and assisted Carlo Rizzi on
